Dubai, December 16, 2008

Emirates NBD’s innovative co-branded credit card NBD-Dnata has received the best marketing campaign award given as part of the MasterCard Asia/Pacific Middle East and Africa Product Awards 2008.

These include a very innovative rewards programme giving Emirates NBD customers’ access to redeem their points for travel with over 130 airlines and travel related services. Also the structure of the rewards programme allows the customer to redeem rewards at their convenience and not to wait to reach a pre-set loyalty point amounts like other programmes in the market.

Emirates NBD received the award at a ceremony held in Singapore as part of the MasterCard Worldwide APMEA (Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa) Product Forum 2008.

“Emirates NBD is committed to continuously develop innovative products and services which provide real value to its customers. The NBD-Dnata Credit Card has received an excellent response based on its innovative rewards programme, which is relevant to all segments in the market. This has been borne out in the business results. Today we are glad to receive this international award which recognises the success of our NBD Dnata co-branded card,” said executive vice-president and general manager, retail banking at Emirates NBD, Suvo Sarkar.

The NBD-Dnata Credit Card is the first co-branded card in the region between a bank and a travel group, which offers a variety of travel-related services. Apart from a range of competitive credit card benefits that include high credit limits, acceptance at millions of outlets worldwide and 24-hour customer assistance, NBD-Dnata Credit Cardholders earn reward points worth 1.5 per cent of the purchase amount every time they use their card anywhere in the world.

These accumulated points can then be redeemed at designated Dnata outlets for any of their products or services, including tickets with more than 130 airlines and other travel-related services. The card adopts an innovative loyalty programme, which provides cardholders a simplified plan to redeem their points directly from any Dnata outlet at time of purchase.

At the recently held MasterCard Worldwide APMEA Product Forum MasterCard honoured its customer financial institutions from around the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region for their excellence in promoting growth, technology and innovation in the payments industry. – TradeArabia News Service
