Drake & Scull, Oracle ink technology deal

Dubai, July 8, 2012

Drake & Scull International (DSI), a regional leader in engineering and civil contracting, has signed an agreement with Oracle to implement its Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise application modules in DSI’s Middle East operations.

DSI will look to pioneer technology by implementing an integrated ERP to cater to the construction industry by seeking business value from next generation IT applications.

Oracle is one of the top four ERP solutions providers in the Gartner Magic Quadrant of Integrated Systems. The increase in project risk and complexity together with the growth of long-term contracts and opportunities in post construction services create both challenges and opportunities for the Engineering, Procurement and Contracting industry.

DSI’s new IT environment will cover integrated Enterprise applications for financials, supply chain, project management, human capital management, business intelligence and Enterprise Performance Management, which aims to boost productivity, achieve efficiency and reduce costs through intelligent business processes.

DSI will leverage these state-of-the-art technologies to transform operational efficiency; the main focus of the offerings is to improve key operations from initial project identification through contract closeout.

The solution will integrate information across departments to write proposals, enable project collaboration, choose the best subcontractors and suppliers, control project execution, improve consistency in forecasts, and streamline payment collection.

Implementations of these web enhanced systems are scheduled to be deployed on private cloud Architecture for agile availability with importance being given to business continuity and disaster recovery.

Khaldoun Tabari, CEO of DSI said, “DSI is leading the adoption of modern technology in the industry which regionally still lags behind global standards. It is our mission to leverage this integrated ERP solution to streamline the business management processes and indeed reduce costs and finally pass these benefits to our clients.”

“Our vision is to empower every aspect of our business with cutting edge technologies; and through this transaction with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise, this is now a reality.

“We expect the integration of the system to start immediately across all our areas of operations in region. Our staff will undergo extensive training tailored to the requirements of all cross functional departments and our existing IT infrastructure will be upgraded to enable a smooth implementation of the system which due to be completed by next year,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
