Bahrain University classes to resume Sunday

Bahrain University has decided to resume classes on Sunday after closing the campus for almost two months following attacks on its Sakhir campus in March by anti-government protesters.

The decision was taken following a meeting between Education Minister Dr Majid Al Nuaimi, university president Dr Ibrahim Janahi and the board of trustees.

The university's Sakhir campus closed on March 13 after anti-government protesters attacked university causing BD35,000 worth of damage.

The final day of university examinations will be July 28, with academic annual leave starting on August 1.

The 2011/2012 academic year will start on September 25.  Engineering, information technology and law classes will resume on Sunday.

Students taking business administration, science, physical education and physiotherapy will return on Tuesday.

Those studying at the college of arts, Bahrain Teachers College and the College of Applied Studies will go back on Thursday.

All students will be obliged to sign a code of conduct to confirm that they will respect university laws.-TradeArabia News Service
