Du seeks applications for career programme

Dubai, April 22, 2013

UAE telecom operator du has announced that it is currently accepting applications for the 2013  intake of students into its Masar Sponsorship Programme.

The programme gives Emirati students financial support to finish their university degree, followed by a rewarding career opportunity at du, said a statement.

“Our Masar Sponsorship Programme is the first of its kind, and offers us the chance to support talented young Emiratis as they forge their new careers,” said Yaser Obaid, senior vice president-Human Resources, du.

“The Masar Sponsorship Programme not only provides them with the means to complete their further education, but allows them to begin an exciting, dynamic career in the Middle East’s fastest-growing telecommunications company. I encourage Emirati students to seize this opportunity, so that they can achieve their full potential with us.” Obaid added.

Students successfully accepted onto the Masar Sponsorship Programme will receive a monthly stipend for the last 24 months of their studies, after which they will join du as a Masar graduate trainee. During their time with du, they will receive coaching, a personal development plan, and training to allow them to progress within the company.

Other benefits throughout the sponsorship include access to du’s work skills programme, free BlackBerry service for two years, as well as two weeks of international work experience, with one of du’s overseas partners.

The Masar Sponsorship Programme is open to Emirati students between 18 and 23 years, who are currently in their third year of study. Students can obtain further details from their university’s career centre, the statement said. - TradeArabia News Service
