Exciting events at science show

Four top events bringing science to life and exhibiting how science is all around us will take place as part of a festival in Abu Dhabi from November 14.

The 10-day Abu Dhabi Science Festival includes Roboshow, Jason Hackenwerth, Dr Hal Reloaded and the Zapata Flyboard to dazzle visitors, said a statement.

Organised by the Abu Dhabi Technology Committee (TDC), in support of the Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision to building a knowledge-based economy, the festival aims to educate, engage and inspire Emirati youth to pursue future careers in science, technology and innovation (STI) and help develop the future dynamic scientific leaders of tomorrow.

Activities will run the full spectrum of all sciences, health, clean technology, astronomy and maths.

Neama Al Marshoudi, manager of content, science and technology promotion, TDC said: “ADSF 2013 activities are sure to ignite the imagination of young visitors and their families alike. Our shows have been specifically selected with the main objective of leaving our viewers in awe, giving them the long lasting positive memories that plant the seed for dynamic futures in science and innovation”.

Engineering, robotics and physics synthesize together in the Roboshow, which will showcase skills of NAO troop robots who dance before enraptured audiences while the spooky robot Skeletron will climb the ropes, said the statement.

Jason Hackenwerth is another addition to the festival and it will provide a unique experience of creating epic and joyful sculptures at the du Forum. It will feature renowned New York artist, Hackenwerth’s talent merges the lines between science, art and engineering with colour and pizzazz.

Professor Hal, Sideshow Dave and Fireworks Mike are back with Dr Hal Reloaded, with experiments such as Ruben’s Tube and the exploding Hydrox Bubbles, besides the Magnesium and CO2 Sandwich.

Zapata Flyboard show, to be held at the Corniche East Plaza, will send men flying through the air with its aerodynamics, propulsion and powerful water jets. - TradeArabia News Service
