Bahrain keen on women empowerment

Manama, April 14, 2014

The government has spared no efforts to promote Bahraini women's political, economic and social empowerment, Bahrain's Premier said yesterday.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa noted that their holding of leadership positions in the government is an evidence of the amount of support and empowerment they enjoy, and proof of confidence in their abilities to assume responsibilities and roles in the nation-building process.

This came as the Premier received at Gudaibiya Palace parliament chairman Dr Khalifa Al Dhahrani, Shura Council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh and MPs, in the presence of senior officials, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

The Premier asserted that Bahrain will embrace all its citizens, affirming the government's desire to ensure decent living for them by providing them with all necessary services.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the government has brought about innumerable achievements for citizens, which they are required to preserve, stressing that whoever seeks to undermine those gains will be isolated by Bahraini society.

He underlined the importance of drawing lessons from the experience undergone by the Arab nation, stressing that "Arab people should be aware of the plots staged against them, to drag them into insecurity and instability."

He called for the need to enhance co-operation among Arab countries to strengthen stability, noting that whenever insecurity prevails, the way will be paved for plotters to implement their evil goals. - TradeArabia News Service
