QInvest hosts top graduates from Paris university

QInvest, a Qatar-based investment bank and a leading Islamic financial institution, hosted 18 graduates of the Executive Master’s Program in Islamic finance at Paris Dauphine University.
 
The graduates of one of the top five European universities for accounting and finance visited Qatar as part of the university’s 2014 International Academic Visit to Qatar this month, said a statement.
 
The graduates had the opportunity to strengthen their relationships with senior professionals at QInvest and listen to presentations by Bernard Barbour, head of Legal, Compliance and Sharia'a Affairs; Hani Ibrahim, head of Debt Capital Markets and Dr Ataf Ahmed, Head of Asset Management. 
 
They also met with other senior members of the company including Duncan Walker, chief operating officer; Essa Saud Al-Kawari, head of government and community relations and administration affairs, and Bassel Hanbali, head of marketing, corporate communications and investor relations and the organiser of this event.  
 
Tamim Hamad Al-Kawari, chief executive officer, said: “QInvest is proud to have been involved with the 2014 International Academic Visit from Paris Dauphine University. Events of this nature strengthen the ties between QInvest and the brightest international graduates and also heighten awareness of the increasing importance of Islamic finance, an area in which we anticipate demand will continue to increase.” 
 
Kader Merbouh, head of the Islamic Finance Executive Master of Paris Dauphine University, said: “It was an honour for us to spend time with QInvest and to be so warmly welcomed. The visit deepened our understanding of Islamic Finance and the trends and opportunities in the region.  It also gave us the opportunity to further strengthen our relationship with QInvest, which is a crucial partnership for the Paris Dauphine University.”
 
QInvest has developed a corporate social responsibility programme which includes a variety of educational, training and development, social, cultural and sporting activities. It also sponsors conferences, seminars and other initiatives that support the growth of financial services.
 
The Paris Dauphine University International Academic Visit across the Middle East included visits to Bahrain, the UAE and Qatar. It ended with a Charity five-a-side football tournament organised by the students and Elite 5 Events at the Aspire complex. - TradeArabia News Service
