Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, a major healthcare event, has announced the extension of its Medlab Middle East series with new events in Riyadh, Johannesburg, Nigeria, Singapore and Sao Paolo in 2013.

Medlab Middle East Exhibition & Congress that will take place during the 38th edition of Arab Health January 28 to 31 at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.

A recent report indicates that medical technology will focus more and more products which empower patients and leverage information, with the in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry worth $44 billion last year, which has an estimated growth of 7.8 per cent for 2016.

The major driving factor behind Arab Health’s push for the expansion of the Medlab series of events is the expected IVD industry to boom in emerging countries such as China, India, Russia, Brazil and the African continent driven by government funding and improved healthcare facilities.

According to Simon Page, managing director, Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions, organisers of Arab Health: “As an integral part of the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, Medlab is the leading medical laboratory and technology event in the Middle East which attracted more than 15 per cent of the overall visitors to Arab Health in 2012.

“As part of the strategic plan to expand the Arab Health brand across the globe, the Medlab Series has now been launched with Medlab events taking place in Dubai, Riyadh, Johannesburg, Nigeria, Singapore and Sao Paolo throughout 2013. Medlab Series will serve the IVD networks in developing markets.”

Medlab Middle East, the next event in the series taking place at Arab Health 2013, is aiming to provide a platform for an ‘Exhibition with Education’ which offers the medical technology field with an opportunity to experience new product ranges, material and other high-tech healthcare solutions focusing specifically on the latest innovations in diagnostic and laboratory equipment, hospital management and bio technology.

In addition to this, the estimated 20,000 attendees can participate in a vast range of CME accredited conferences and workshops.

Exhibiting this year at Medlab Middle East include industry leaders such as Roche Diagnostics, Abbott Diagnostics, Beckman Coulter, National Reference Laboratory, Terumo BCT, Advance Technology Company, Gulf Scientific Est. for Laboratories and Siemens Diagnostics.
