FDB inks key Saudi partnership deal

Riyadh, July 7, 2013

FDB, a leading provider of drug databases and clinical decision support, has announced a key partnership agreement with Jeddah-based vendor, Al-Anaiah International Electronics.

This partnership extends FDB's market position in Saudi Arabia, said a statement from the company.

Al-Anaiah's Phoenix Hospital Information System is currently being used by one of the top university hospitals in Jeddah.

FDB's Middle East Drug Knowledge is a critical component of the hospital system used in areas such as pharmacy and e-prescribing.

Clinicians at the hospital already benefit from clinical decision support in areas such as drug-drug, drug-allergy interactions as well as duplicate therapy.

FDB managing director Darren Nichols said: "We are pleased to be working with Al-Anaiah on this important implementation. Through our combined efforts, the university hospital will benefit from access to comprehensive drug data combined with unrivalled decision support."

Ian Bailey, the CEO of Al-Anaiah said: "Integrating FDB's data into the Phoenix HIS means that decision support can be carried out within the patient record itself. Automatic drug alerts and detailed drug information should provide time and resource efficiencies right across the hospital."

"Clinicians should experience increased confidence in making the right medication choices for patients," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
