Globalpharma offers industrial training

Dubai, February 22, 2009

Globalpharma has announced that it is once again organising professional training programs in various disciplines for graduate and undergraduate students in the UAE.

“Today's students are tomorrow's leaders in the sciences,” said Jamil Akhtar, general manager of Globalpharma. “At Globalpharma, we understand the critical importance of preparing students for careers in the biomedical and pharmaceutical industry, and have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that promising young talents in the country have every opportunity to learn and flourish.

“Through our various training programs in production, instrumentation, microbiology, and analytical sciences, we offer a unique opportunity for students in the UAE to fine-tune their research skills which adds invaluably to their academic curriculum. The programs give students an opportunity to work on challenging projects, learn about the pharmaceutical industry and apply their skills in a world-class manufacturing organization.”

“We view the internship program as an excellent opportunity for students to learn about us and for us to learn about them. The overriding objective here is to give these students a practical exposure to the everyday workings of the pharmaceutical industry and help them develop and apply their skills and knowledge to prepare for a successful career in pharmaceutical sciences,” Akhtar added.

Globalpharma, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, has been offering internship training programs since 2002 in a variety of disciplines such as pharmaceutical manufacturing, engineering, quality control, and quality assurance, with more than 50 students going through the program every year.

It is also Dubai’s first pharmaceutical manufacturing company, manufacturing and marketing pharmaceutical products in more than 20 countries across the Middle East, Africa and Far East.

Established in 1998, the company has developed into a major player in the MEA pharmaceutical market, earning a reputation for quality and reliability.

“At Globalpharma, we believe that the only way to succeed in the fast-changing health-care industry is to get ahead of the curve, and to drive change. We constantly strive for innovation and remain committed to emerge as a market leader in the MEA and beyond by manufacturing pharmaceutical products of the highest quality,” Akhtar concluded.

The 2009 internship program will be held during the summer months of June & July. – TradeArabia News Service
