KOC deploys Microsoft system

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has signed up Microsoft to deploy its flagship operating system Windows 7 across its entire computing infrastructure.

With the deployment, the Kuwaiti oil firm has received significant benefits through improved flexibility and enhanced security, said a Microsoft Gulf statement.

The operating system upgrade will lead to enhanced operational efficiency and increased personal productivity for employees throughout the organisation, it added.

Ali Al-Nakib, head of IT services at KOC said, "We consider the implementation of new technology as key to achieve the improvements desired within our operations. We have always been early adopters of new, relevant technologies that is core to our business."

"We continually sponsor new research and development projects that can positively impact the business. Our decade long relationship with Microsoft has proven this and our latest adoption shows our dedication to achieving our 2020 vision," he added.

Ehab Mostafa, country manager, Microsoft Kuwait, said the successful implementation of Windows 7 in Kuwait Oil Company is a powerful endorsement of its flagship operating system.

"This will be a tremendous asset to KOC to gain a competitive advantage in today’s new world of work in addition to helping employees be more productive anywhere.
