SAP names head for EMEA emerging markets

Dubai, July 6, 2011

SAP, the market leader in enterprise application software, has appointed Tim Noble to head of Emerging Markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), covering Africa, CEE, CIS, and Mena.

He replaces Bernd Kraus and Peter David who have been acting as interim lead and will return to their roles of COO cluster Emerging and CFO cluster Emerging respectively.

As head of Emerging Markets in Europe, Noble will be responsible for strengthening regional capability, driving growth and delivering innovation to customers across emerging markets in the region. In his new role Noble will report directly to Franck Cohen, president of SAP EMEA.

Previously Noble served as managing director of SAP UKI where he was responsible for executing the SAP UKI business strategy and putting in place comprehensive growth plans.

"This is an incredibly exciting challenge. I look forward to building on our customer-driven strategy for growth in the region,” said Noble.

“Companies in emerging markets face different challenges to those in Western Europe and by executing SAP’s customer focused strategy for co-innovation in the SAP ecosystem, we will continue to help customers in these markets to realise their potential as they strive to compete, both regionally and internationally.”

Franck Cohen, president of SAP EMEA, said: “I am confident in Tim’s broad experience. As managing director of SAP UKI, he built an impressive track record, achieving commercial success through the championing of innovation and pursuing a customer focused approach.”

“Tim will now take his strong understanding of market requirements and industry knowledge to accelerate SAP’s growth across the emerging markets in the region, an area in which SAP sees a unique opportunity,” he added.

Fred Hessabi, general manager of EMEA North, will also serve as interim managing director of SAP UKI until a replacement is appointed, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
