Comguard, Dubai-based leading distributor for IT security products and authorised distributor for Kaspersky, has announced the availability of Kaspersky Security for Virtualisation in the Middle East region.

Kaspersky Security for Virtualisation provides an award-winning anti-malware solution for virtualised infrastructures including servers, desktops and data centres, a statement from Comguard said. In addition, it can also manage security for a wide range of devices like physical servers, virtual machines and mobile devices from one, unified security management console that simplifies essential security tasks and improves visibility of security issues.

In addition to plug-and-play compatibility with Kaspersky Lab’s own endpoint security offerings, the new innovation which is delivered as a virtual security appliance also integrates seamlessly with VMware vShield Endpoint to provide agent-less, anti-malware security based upon Kaspersky Lab’s advanced anti-malware engine, the statement said.

Kaspersky Security avoids the needless complexity and resource-drain associated with security programmes that typically “bolt-on” acquired technology for virtual environments, it said.
