Batelco to launch mobile voice mail service

Manama, June 16, 2014

Bahrain’s top telecoms services provider Batelco is conducting a free trial period for a new Voice Mail service for its mobile customers, prior to launching the service commercially, as part of its ongoing enhancement to the customers’ Value Added Services.

Batelco has designed the new service to make staying in touch with family and friends much easier, said the company in a statement.

The service, which is available globally, enables Batelco customers to leave a voice mail message when calling unreachable customers.

If called numbers are unreachable, the caller will have the option to leave a voice mail message, while the called customers will receive a text message, free of charge, notifying them about the voice mail message and the callers’ number, it stated.

Customers will then have the option to retrieve their messages at normal call rates, or for free as part of the free local call bundle in their current price plan.

Similarly the callers will be charged normal call rates depending on their voice price plans.

Based on customer feedback during the free trial period, Batelco will commercially launch the service starting from July 1, said the company.

Once this service is activated, customers will receive a text message with directions on how to opt-in or out of the service, according to customers’ choice, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
