Greece offers 5-year visa to Non-EU investors

Riyadh, February 13, 2014

Investors from non-EU countries will be allowed to obtain five-year resident permits in Greece, provided the investment is at least 250,000 euros ($340,378), according to a new law, said a report.

The Greek Consul General in Jeddah Jurnes Polakharenao has called on the Saudi business community to take advantage of the opportunities available to them in the country in energy, real estate, industry and tourism sectors, said the Arab News report.

The law was announced on the sidelines of a visit by Greek Minister of Tourism Olga Kayvalogiana to Saudi Arabia, aimed at promoting Greek tourism and opening up new markets, it said.

Non-EU citizens and their families can get the ‘Schengen’ visa for five years, if they buy or rent a property in Greece for the stipulated amount, which can be renewed for another five years if they do not sell the property, it added.
