Latest media technologies to go on show

Dubai, January 5, 2010

Cabsat Mena, the world’s latest satellite communication and digital media exhibition, taking place in Dubai from March 2 to 4, plans to display the most up-to-date technologies.

Now in its 16th year, Cabsat Mena will be held alongside the Satellite Mena exhibition at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC).

Leading companies including AMT, Hitachi, Sony, Tek Signal, The Vitec Group and UBMS are already confirmed and will be heavily promoting the latest industry developments in HD technology.

Research company Population Reference Bureau estimates that there are more than 430 million ‘media-hungry’ Mena residents keen to experience the latest in new technologies, such as high-definition (HD).

The young population of the region is one of the key drivers for the growth of the industry as they grow up with Internet use a norm.

Cabsat Mena brings HD technology to life for industry professionals interested to learn more about fixed and mobile technologies from IPTV to mobile TV.

“The sheer population of the Mena region, and the speed of its growth, presents enormous opportunities to manufacturers and service providers in the digital media and satellite industries who gather here in Dubai each year at this combined event,” said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre, the event organiser.

“Industry technologies, particularly those in the HD space, will bring a world of business and entertainment options to residents from across the GCC and North Africa. Cabsat Mena and Satellite Mena 2010 will create a platform for the display of all related products and services and knowledge exchange,” he added.

Satellite Mena is a dedicated show which caters to broadcasters, telecom companies, governments and military buyers looking for the world’s latest technologies from VSAT systems to uplink and downlink facilities.

“Cabsat Mena and Satellite Mena are key events to Arabsat,” said Badih Kanaan, marketing communications manager, Arabsat.

“Cabsat is a premier trade platform to stay in contact with decision makers in the Mena region and beyond, to meet new and existing clients, expand the business and to forge the Arabsat brand.”

“Arabsat is looking forward to the show and has almost doubled its space commitment in line with the importance it places on the event,” he added.

Cabsat Mena provides a showcase for broadcast equipment and systems, cable and satellite installation, camera equipment and accessories, computer graphics software and equipment, decoders, dish antenna, editing software, lighting, audio equipment and accessories, modulators, motion picture products and services, production and post production equipment, receivers and streaming media.

Satellite Mena has become the industry networking platform to explore business opportunities, formulate strategies and create partnerships for video, voice, data and IP communications over satellite.

"Our Cabsat Mena and Satellite Mena exhibitions are the region’s annual meeting place for the satellite communications and electronic media sectors; two of the most dynamic sectors in the Middle East economy,” said David Roberts, industry group manager, Dubai World Trade Centre.

“Taken as one event, the two shows offer a powerful platform for leading regional companies and new market entrants alike to come together and meet many of the world’s biggest buyers in the industry,” he added.

The exhibitions are for trade and business only. Visitors under the age of 18 will not be permitted entry. – TradeArabia News Service
