Forum to highlight issues in power, water sectors

Dubai, July 29, 2013

The demand and supply challenges of the region’s power and water sector will be addressed by industry experts at an upcoming forum  in Dubai.

The 2nd Arabian Water and Power Forum set to take place from September 23 to 25 at the Address Hotel, Dubai Marina, will gather professionals who will address the forum, with the specific aim of formulating solutions and identifying investment needed to boost supply in the sector.

“Water and power are concerns that resonate throughout the Middle East in the face of water scarcity and the energy requirements of a burgeoning population coupled with resurgent economic activity. The supply-demand challenges posed are complex because they extend across a diversity of sectors and public sector bodies," said Gurpreet Hayre, the CWC Group, the organiser of the forum.

"The Arabian Water and Power Forum will gather decision makers in the industry who have the ability to influence investments and regulations, and work towards sustainable solutions,” said Hayre.

The forum will examine the sustainable development of the water and power sector across the Arabian Gulf region, by debating and developing new policies and strategies for stimulating innovation.

The annual forum is the meeting place for key government and industry leaders interested in and currently involved in the Middle East energy sector, the organiser said.

Sustainable energy and the Middle Eastern government’s role in defining energy security will be highlighted at the forum and workshop.

Sessions focused on policy and regulation development for energy efficiency and sustainability, and current developments in power and water to identify supply-demand gaps, will support the discussions with specific focus on energy sources including hybrid energy, gas power, cost-effective fuel diversification and solar power generation. - TradeArabia News Service
