The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) said it has signed an open air services agreement and initialed an Air Services Agreement (ASA) with the Government of Croatia.

The agreement was initialled by Saif Al Suwaidi, GCAA director general and Jure Šarić, director general for Civil Aviation at the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of Croatia in capital Zagreb on Thursday, said a GCAA statement.

Representatives from Abu Dhabi Department of Transport, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Sharjah Department of Civil Aviation, Etihad Airways and Emirates Airline attended the negotiations.

The delegations of both the countries agreed that any number of designated airlines of both parties will have the right to perform scheduled air services.

The UAE delegation designated Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia, RAK Airways and FlyDubai as the national airlines under the agreement, while the Croatia delegation designated Croatia Airline, Dubrovnik Airline and Trade Air.

The MoU allows full flexibility on the routes, capacity, number of frequencies and types of aircraft, in any type of service (passenger or cargo), said a GCAA statement.

The signed memorandum also includes the exercise of fifth freedom traffic rights. In addition, both Parties agreed to allow unrestricted non-scheduled operations between the two countries.-TradeArabia News Service
