Batelco to sponsor Bahrain Air Show

Batelco has announced its sponsorship of the Bahrain International Airshow which will be held at the Sakhir Airbase from January 19 to 21 next year.

Batelco chairman Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Farnborough International Exhibition director Amanda Stainer signed the sponsorship contract with the organising committee of Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS 2012) at Paris Airshow on Monday.

'We are proud of Batelco as a national company that provides the highest quality telecommunications services both in Bahrain and abroad,' said Bahrain International Airshow organising committee and Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) Under-Secretary Captain Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Gaoud.

'Their co-operation with government agencies for the sponsorship of this event is an excellent example of co-operation between the private and public sectors.'

'We are truly pleased to partner up with Batelco once again and look forward to another successful air show that brings international representatives of the industry to Bahrain,' he added.

'We are honoured and delighted to extend our support to this event for the second time in the kingdom,' said Batelco group general manager of media relations Ahmed Al Janahi.

'The prestigious event is poised to once again put Bahrain in the world spotlight and demonstrate to the international business community the outstanding capabilities offered by organisations operating in Bahrain.

'Batelco sponsored a successful Bahrain International Airshow in 2010 and we look forward to making the event in 2012 even more extraordinary,' he added.

Gulf Technology Company too signed an agreement, confirming its participation in the Bahrain International Airshow.

Gulf Technology Company chief executive officer Ahmed Al Rayyes sealed the deal in the presence of Captain Al Gaoud. Captain A Gaoud also signed a MoU with Mathews Company board to promote the BIAS trademark.

Bahrain is taking part in the Paris Air Show for the second time, with a pavilion representing the Civil Aviation Affairs and other national companies.

These include particularly Gulf Air, Bahrain Airport Services, Bahrain Duty Free, Gulf Aviation Academy, Gulf Technology Company, Bapco, Batelco, DHL Bahrain and the Civil Aviation Affairs.

French President Nicholas Sarkozy opened the Paris Air Show, with 49 leading companies from over 50 countries showcasing their cutting-edge products.-TradeArabia News Service
