Gulf Air relaunches flights to Al Najaf

Manama, September 20, 2012

 

Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, today celebrated the re-launch of its flights to Iraq with the first flight to Al Najaf departing Bahrain International Airport this morning. 
 
The airline will initially fly four times a week to Al Najaf. This will be increased to daily from December 1.
 
Flights to Baghdad, Erbil and Basra in Iraq will begin progressively between September 21 and October 29.
 
Commenting on the flight’s re-launch, Gulf Air deputy chief executive officer Maher AlMusallam said: “We are pleased to be resuming flights to Iraq as it has been an important market for us over the years. Moreover, we have seen strong bookings since the announcement of the re-opening of our routes, and we are definitely starting off as we mean to go on.” 
 
Baghdad flights will launch on September 21 with five weekly flights, while Erbil will launch effective from September 23 with four weekly flights increasing to daily from October 28 and Basra will launch on October 29 with three weekly flights increasing to four from December 1. - TradeArabia News Service
