Bahrain roadshow to boost tourism
Manama, February 5, 2013
Bahrain is organising a roadshow in a move to boost tourism, as the government signs off on multi-billion dollar transportation infrastructure plans and Manama launches its 2013 Arab Capital of Tourism calendar of events.
The Arabian Travel Market 2013 (ATM 2013) will visit eight destinations over a two-week period this month, starting in Kuwait and travelling to Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, Oman and the UAE, according to a report in the Gulf Daily News.
The roadshow was yesterday launched at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain and Gulf Convention Centre.
Meanwhile, the kingdom is set to have a strong presence at ATM 2013, to be held in Dubai in May, with major exhibitors such as the Culture Ministry, Gulf Hotel Bahrain and Ramee Grand Hotel and Spa taking part.
The total contribution of travel and tourism to Bahrain's GDP is forecast to rise by 4.5 per cent from $3.97 billion in 2011 to $6.16 billion by 2021, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council. – TradeArabia News Service
