Ramee opens five-star hotel in Bahrain

Manama, August 15, 2013

Ramee Group's first five-star property in Bahrain’s Seef District has begun welcoming guests after its ‘soft’ opening on the first day of Eid.

The 24-storey Ramee Grand Hotel and Spa is claimed to be the tallest five-star hotel in the kingdom and boasts superb sea and city skyline views.

The $53 million “Luxury by Ramee” property joins the regional group’s bouquet of more than 35 hotels and apartment hotels in the GCC and India.

The new hotel, situated close to the Seef Mall, Bahrain City Centre and the Bahrain Mall, is just 15 minutes’ drive from the airport.

The hotel offers 166 suites and rooms.  “We offer the largest room size for any five-star hotel in Bahrain,” says Mr Shantaram Shetty, Group General Manager. “While the international standard is 35 sq m, our rooms start from 48 sq m.”

There are 12 two-bedroom Ambassador suites that are elegantly furnished with top-class amenities. They offer a separate living room, as well as a dining area and a fully equipped kitchenette. “The suites are the hotel’s largest and designed with the utmost privacy and total relaxation of the guest in mind,” says Mr Shetty.

The hotel also has 18 one-bedroom contemporary Grand Suites; and 110 spacious Deluxe Rooms that are 54 sq m in size and feature floor-to-ceiling windows.

Speaking on the design concept of the hotel, Mr Shetty says:  “The predominant theme in the hotel is Nature. It makes use of natural lighting wherever possible; wood is used extensively in the property, and mild colours have been chosen to be in harmony with the environment.”
In a unique attempt to promote Bahrain’s natural heritage, posters of the ‘Tree of Life’ have been placed throughout the hotel’s corridors, lobbies and rooms.

Serviced by 10 lifts, the hotel provides direct access to some of its premier facilities from the grand lobby.

“Ramee is known for the quality of its service and we are committed to provide the highest standard in every aspect of hospitality,” says Mr Shetty. “From cutlery to bathroom fixtures, from the front office staff to the kitchen employees, everyone and everything is hand-picked.”

The hotel will be home to some of the biggest F&B and entertainment venues in the kingdom. It will house three Club floors, 800 sq m of conference/banqueting   facilities; a whole floor of recreation facilities including a spa, a swimming pool and a fully equipped gym; and space for 180 cars across three basement levels. The 5,000 sq ft spa features 12 plus treatment rooms with a unique selection of facials, massages and treatments.

On the food front, Ramee Grand will serve up a delicious fare with the all-day dining Lemon Tree restaurant; the Rialto, an authentic Italian restaurant; Rasoi, the Indian restaurant with live Gazal music; Ruka, the Japanese restaurant on the 24th floor with spectacular views of the Manama skyline; Tea Garden, a specialist tea lounge; and the Red Lions sports bar.

The hotel is also giving final touches to the Ibrida Club, set to be Bahrain’s biggest, with live entertainment.  – TradeArabia News Service
