NBK denies CEO Dabdoub to step down

Kuwait City, October 1, 2007

National Bank of Kuwait, the country's biggest lender, on Monday denied a newspaper report that chief executive Ibrahim Dabdoub will step down by year-end.

Kuwaiti daily An-Nahar said in an unsourced report that Dabdoub's deputy Issam al-Saqr was the likely candidate to replace him.

"We deny the report," a spokesman for NBK quoted Dabdoub as saying. -Reuters
