Acuma wins third financial services licence

Dubai, March 4, 2009

Acuma Insurance Brokers has been awarded a financial services licence from the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD), according to a statement.

This is Acuma’s third licence, adding to others from the UAE Central Bank and the Ministry of Economy.

The award of the licence from HAAD coincides with the opening of Acuma’s new Abu Dhabi office, located in the DHL building on Airport Road. Six financial professionals will operate from the Abu Dhabi branch, delivering financial advice to companies and individuals in the emirate.

Despite the current economic downturn, Acuma Wealth Management recorded a 30 per cent rise in business during January 2009 compared to the same period in 2008.

“In this current financial climate it is vital to get meaningful financial advice,” said Cornelius Lillis, CEO Acuma group. “All of our advisors are qualified to work through a variety of client circumstances  and deliver solutions that are appropriate to those clients’ needs.”

With the opening of the Abu Dhabi branch office and the recruitment of several new advisors from the UK, Acuma is looking forward to a busy year ahead, the statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
