Emirates Post offers money transfer to Tunisia

Dubai, October 5, 2011

Emirates Post has extended its Express Money Transfer service to Tunisia, through the postal network, powered by UPU's secure International Financial System (IFS), following an agreement between Emirates Post and Tunisia Post.

Under the agreement, money sent from any post office in the UAE will be delivered through a post office in Tunisia, for a fee of Dh30 ($8.16) per remittance. The maximum amount that can be sent by an individual is $1,000.

Ibrahim Bin Karam, chief commercial officer of Emirates Post Group, said: “This agreement will further strengthen the relations between UAE and Tunisia, as people living in the UAE can now send money to their loved ones in Tunisia at a low transfer fee. Our vast postal network will ensure that customers can transfer money with ease from any part of the UAE.”

Abdullah Mohamed Alashram, chief executive officer, Emirates Post, said: “Emirates Post is committed to providing a fair-priced money transfer system that is made secure by Universal Postal Union.”

“We plan to add many more Arab countries to the IFS network soon, so that Arab nationals can transfer money to their home countries at reasonable rates and with a high degree of reliability,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
