Al Khaliji to enter DSM 20 Index

Doha, November 4, 2008

Al Khaliji and three other companies will enter the DSM 20 Index with effect from January 1, 2009. The index is used as a performance benchmark for stocks listed on the Doha Securities Market.

Al Khaliji also participated in the second annual HSBC Mena Investor Forum in Abu Dhabi on October 29-30, 2008.

Management from 40 leading listed companies across eight Mena countries took part in the HSBC-organised event, and gave equity presentations to 140 international investors, a clear indication of the growing interest in the region.

Al Khaliji showcased and discussed its strategy, successes and key developments during meetings with financial and business analysts, hedge fund managers and investment advisors.

David Proctor, chief executive officer of Al Khaliji, said: "The inclusion of Al Khaliji in the DSM 20 Index reflects a variety of factors including the size of our market capitalisation and the number and value of shares traded. We're delighted to be joining such an esteemed short list of companies just over one year after our listing." - TradeArabia News Service
