BSE starts trading at new floor
Manama, May 4, 2010
The Bahrain Stock Exchange (BSE) held its first trading session at its new premises at the fourth floor of the Financial Mall at Bahrain Financial Harbour (BFH).
BSE chairman Rasheed Al Maraj and director Fouad Rashid visited the trading floor and welcomed the brokers and investors on the first trading session at the exchange's new premises.
'BSE's relocation to Bahrain Financial Harbour is considered a strategic step in which we seek to support our plans and efforts to provide a variety of advanced services and financial instruments,' said Rashid.
'This is to enhance BSE's position and support its competitiveness among regional markets.'
He said he hoped that BSE's new offices, which are highly equipped, will initiate a new beginning for the BSE and encourage companies to benefit from the services and privileges provided by it in a way that will allow them to bring in alternative investments and widen the shareholders' base at the exchange.
BSE finalised the relocation of all of its departments, equipment and systems at the beginning of this month and succeeded in performing all the technical tests required to ensure the exchange's readiness to operate efficiently at its new premises.-TradeArabia News Service
