Manama, July 4, 2007

The Bahrain International Property Exhibition 2007 (BIPEX) will take place at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre from November 28 to 30.

This year, the exhibition will highlight the fast-changing international real estate scenario with particular focus in the Middle East, targeting investors, exhibitors and consultants alike.

It will also focus on the many plush residential properties that are currently under construction with many more in the planning stage in Bahrain, Dubai and other countries in the region.

Organised by the Bahrain Society of Engineers, BIPEX will be held under the patronage of Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, Bahrain.

“BIPEX was conceived four years ago and has today grown into a truly international property exhibition of repute with exhibitors from newer markets joining each year,” says Rizwan Mumtaz, Chairman, Publicity Committee of Bipex 2007, while speaking at a Press conference, which provided an update on the exhibition and its various features.

“The exhibition is getting bigger and stronger every year and comes at a time of unprecedented boom in the real estate and construction field.

“We intend to focus on publicity and marketing by the espousal of a media partner, insertion of advertisements in newspapers, magazines and television as well as creating a media hype through billboards, hoardings, radio announcements and display boards at highly visited places such as airport, shopping malls and banks across Bahrain.

“Participation from real estate and property players at Bipex 2007 is hence expected to touch unprecedented level and the event will attract an array of new exhibitors from the region and across global markets, signifying the reputation of the show as one of the leading property exhibitions in the region,” he adds.

The regional real estate markets have been witnessing rapid growth as their fast-growing middle class eyes private residential properties, both in their countries of origin and in the Gulf region.

Bahrain boasts a very efficient business infrastructure backed with a favourable business strategy that allows 100 per cent ownership of companies and industrial land.

As the financial capital of the Middle East, in recent times with the advent of multiple new projects, Bahrain is rapidly establishing itself as a haven for the real estate sector.

The exhibition's intent is to thus aimed at providing real estate developer, builders, property consultants and financial institutions from the region, nearby countries and other parts of the world an opportunity to meet, discuss and sell their services and give propositions to visitors, guests and other prospective buyers from the Gulf.

“Some of the recent landmark projects in Bahrain, which have broadened the horizon for international developers in this growing market, will be showcased at the event,” says Mohammed Khalil Alsayed, president of the Bahrain Society of Engineers while commenting on this initiative and the overall objectives of BIPEX 2007.

“These will include Bahrain Bay, Bahrain Financial Harbour, World Trade Centre, Amwaj Island, Amwaj Gateway, Riffa Views, Al Areen, Reef Island, Marina West among others,” adds Mohammed Khalil Alsayed.

The exhibition comes at a time when Bahrain is witnessing the strongest boom in its history of the real estate and construction sector.

“The value of projects currently under construction in the region is worth $7 billion, those in the planning stage is $10 billion and projects under design or tendered out is $5 billion. So Bipex comes at a time all the developers, owners, financiers, investors, and buyers of these projects can participate in the exhibition, as its main aim is to gather everybody under one umbrella,” he adds.
