Stromek wins piling contract

Dubai, November 12, 2007

Stromek Emirates Foundation has been awarded a contract for a residential and commercial tower being built by Dubai International Real Estate.

Stromek, in collaboration with main contractor Al-Habbai Contracting Co, has been commissioned for the shoring and piling foundation works.

Stromek, a subsidiary of M'Sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments, is on pace of hitting its targeted completion date in 45 working days as it has now completed 50 per cent of the shoring and piling  works, the company said.

Stromek has said it has been able to greatly improve its pace and efficiency because of its newly acquired Soilmec drilling rigs from Italy.

"This project presents a formidable challenge as we have to finish the work within the specified time frame. However; we are confident of hitting our target dates and are actually ahead of schedule,” said Ahmed El Adl, general manager of Stromek Emirates Foundation.
Stromek has a portfolio of over 575 successfully completed projects in the UAE. Established by Al Arif Contracting Company, the leading civil contractor in Dubai in 1994, Stromek is reputed for its high quality mechanical foundation. –TradeArabia News Service
