Abu Dhabi firm to host key property forum

Abu Dhabi, October 21, 2009

LLJ Property, a leading real estate agency in Abu Dhabi, is set to organise a major property forum on Saturday in partnership with Propertyfinder.ae, Clyde & Co and Abu Dhabi Finance.

The forum is a business to consumer event designed to give clients/investors a chance to gather information from industry experts about the Abu Dhabi property market and to ask questions.

It will address some of the current challenges facing today’s market which have been exacerbated by misleading and conflicting information leading to confusion and misinterpretation of the Abu Dhabi real estate sector.

Linda Loughnane, managing director LLJ Property, and panel member said; “This is a chance for us to dispel some myths and share solid facts and information about the strong fundamentals of Abu Dhabi which continue to underpin the property sector.”

“It will be a chance for consumers to take away good information and make considered opinions based on knowledge rather than hearsay,” he noted.

The event will provide a forum for the general public to question and voice current issues, seek clarification and understand where the Abu Dhabi Property market is now.

The intention of the panel members is not to lecture so much as to exchange knowledge, guide, help and listen to consumers, Linda added.

Philip Ward, CEO of Abu Dhabi Finance, said, “While there is now some good value to be found in the Abu Dhabi market, there are also still investment opportunities that promise little return in the short to medium term.”

“We are here to help people identify value and affordability and advise them on their options. What can be a good investment for one person might not suit the next, as individual commitments and circumstances differ.”

“As a mortgage lender, we are here to help people understand what they can comfortably afford and what makes a good investment for them as individuals,” Ward added.

“This Abu Dhabi event is based on the success of two previous events we co-hosted in Dubai,” explained Marcello Sambartolo, marketing director Propertyfinder.ae, who is also on the panel.

“At these events we found that consumers were hungry for up to date accurate market information and were struggling to find it. The Abu Dhabi Property Forum is designed to provide that information,” he added.

The expert panel will also include Moustafa Said, Senior Associate and Legal Consultant with international law firm Clyde & Co as well as Chris Higgins, Chief Financial Officer with Abu Dhabi Finance.

The panel will address the following topics: current state of the Abu Dhabi property market and a look ahead, the legal position on buying and owning property in Abu Dhabi, financing property in Abu Dhabi and searching for property in Abu Dhabi.-TradeArabia News Service
