Jeddah to host biggest construction show

Jeddah, July 19, 2011

Saudi Construction Show 2012, a major exhibition focusing on heavy machinery and the large equipment required for construction, will be held in Jeddah in April next year.

The show, organised by Dubai-based publishing house CPI, will be held along with the prestigious Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition (SBIE), an annual exhibition organised by Al Harithy Company for Exhibition (ACE).

This strategic partnership between CPI and ACE will provide visitors with a one-stop shop for all of their construction requirements, a statement said.

SBIE, which is held under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, attracted more than 500 exhibitors from 20 countries; and more than 25,000 trade visitors this year.

In its 21st edition, the event continues to provide a comprehensive show for manufacturers and suppliers and fits the same model as Saudi Construction Show, the statement said.

Commenting about the partnership, Raz Islam, sales director of Saudi Construction Show, said: "CPI's partnership with ACE will help bring two of the region's biggest construction events together. Saudi Construction Show focuses on heavy machinery and the large equipment required for construction while SBIE concetrates on building materials and hardware, climate control, interiors, waste management, safety and so on. Now, all of this will be featured in one place, thereby, making it easier for attendees to access their information, products and services from one place."

Saudi Construction Show and SBIE 2012 are scheduled to take place at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events from April 22 to 25, 2012. SBIE will be hosted in the main hall while the Saudi Construction Show will be showcased in a 20,000 sq m outdoor space at the same venue.

"While the rest of the world struggles to come to terms with the effects of the global recession, Saudi Arabia has remained relatively unscathed, with only 1 per cent of construction projects delayed. The 2012 twin event takes place at a time when hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in construction projects across the kingdom," added Zahoor Siddique, vice president of ACE.

The largest heavy construction event in the region will bring manufacturers, distributors and buyers together. There will be a wide variety of products on show ranging from heavy equipment to machinery and generators. Service providers will be exhibiting at the event. There will also be a live auction and demonstration area for visitors to get a real idea of the capabilities of the big mahcines. This event is dedicated to the construction machinery sector and will provide an invaluable platform for customers in the Arab world.

SBIE is an ideal business platform to find out about the latest building and interiors industry developments, assess the competition and network with specialist contractors, equipment and material suppliers as well as solution providers. The show will include building materials and hardware, climate control, construction equipment and tools, electricity and lighting, environmental conservation, marble, granite and stone, technology safety, security and fire prevention, water technology as well as waste management.  - TradeArabia News Service
