Ewaan Global Housing names new chairman

JEDDAH, July 10, 2016

Ewaan Global Housing, a Saudi-based company providing affordable accommodation to its residents, has appointed Abdullah bin Muhammad Ahmed Ashy as its new chairman.

Ashy’s nomination comes based on his deep knowledge of investment sectors, Islamic financing and consulting, as well as his 13 years of experience where he worked in a number of the most prominent Saudi financial institutions, corporations and real estate developers, said the company in its statement.

These experiences will add value to the company’s vision alongside his academic experience as a former lecturer at the King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah and the Open Arab University’s Jeddah branch.

Ashy holds a Master’s degree in accounting, as well as in Business from Griffith University in Australia. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management from George Mason University in the US and a number of internationally-certified professional certifications, said the Jeddah-based company.

The decision to nominate Ashy as successor to Anees Moemena, chairman since 2013, was taken at the board meeting held recently.

An industry veteran, Ashy has held several important roles at the Islamic Institution for Private Sector Development, which is a subsidiary of the Islamic Development Bank, Ahly Commercial Bank, Ernst & Young, as well as a number of leading companies in the fields of asset management, auditing and others.

Ewaan is one of the leading real estate development companies in the Kingdom, specialised in developing integrated residential communities.-TradeArabia News Service
