Majid Al Futtaim, a leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, is moving ahead with the final phases of Mall of Egypt in preparation for the opening of the super-regional shopping destination on March 2 next year.

The first shopping destination of its kind in Egypt, the Mall of Egypt is located in 6th of October City on Al Wahat Road.

Set up at an investment of E£6 billion ($673 million), the two-level mall will feature over 350 lifestyle, entertainment, and convenience-oriented outlets and 50 food and beverage outlets, offering a unique range of experiences that have become the hallmark of Majid Al Futtaim’s presence across the region, said a statement from Majid Al Futtaim.

It will deliver on the company’s pledge to provide great moments for everyone every day in Egypt, it stated.

The opening of the mall will see the launch of Ski Egypt, Africa’s first ski slope and the country’s first VOX Cinemas Cineplex, while providing an entry point for some of the world’s leading international brands to enter the country for the first time, said the retail pioneer.
 
The mall spans a gross leasable area (GLA) of 165,000 sq m and will provide customers with 6,500 parking spaces.
 
A leading player n the region, Majid Al Futtaim currently owns and operates 20 shopping malls across the Mena region; each of them is strategically developed to meet the specific needs and requirements of its market.-TradeArabia News Service
