Honeywell unveils home, building tech solutions

KUWAIT, April 26, 2017

Honeywell, a global technology and manufacturing leader, unveiled its new home and building technology (HBT) solutions for the Middle East region at a key industry event held in Kuwait.

The Honeywell Home and Building Technologies Symposium saw over 250 representatives from government ministries, end-users, consultants and partners discuss the key issues of building efficiency, safety and productivity across the Middle East.

Honeywell HBT is a global business with more than 44,000 employees worldwide. It is a leader in the Internet of Things (IoT) and creates products, software and technologies found in more than 150 million homes and 10 million buildings worldwide.

The company helps homeowners stay connected and in control of their comfort, security and energy use.
Commercial building owners and occupants use these technologies to ensure their facilities are safe, energy efficient, sustainable and productive.

Honeywell said its advanced metering hardware and software solutions help electricity, gas and water providers supply customers and communities more efficiently.

The event was part of a regional roadshow where Honeywell hosted industry experts to discuss its ‘connected’ offering as well as in-market specific factors such as regulations and regional country visions.

These factors significantly impact the deployment of technologies that help to solve real business challenges and make the region’s buildings more green, safe and productive.

George Bou Mitri, the president of Honeywell Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon, said: "Kuwait has been making steady progress towards reaching its economic diversification and sustainability goals."

"With the announcement of the new Kuwait Vision 2035 earlier this year, a renewed focus has come about to realise a more green, safe and productive future for the country, and building efficiency is at the heart of this transformation," he stated.

The roadshow took place in line with the new Kuwait Vision 2035 unveiled at the start of 2017 outlining  environment as a key pillar of focus in its economic development plan to transform the country.

Given that priority, Honeywell showcased its latest offerings and end-to-end developments in building automation and energy efficiency, security, connected homes, life safety solutions, and the IoT.

"Honeywell has proudly been in the Middle East for more than 60 years, and the roadshow provided us with the opportunity to highlight how our cutting-edge building automation, energy efficiency and life safety portfolio addressed the latest market needs and meets new, stricter safety regulations as introduced by regional governments," said Tony Nasr, business leader, Honeywell Security and Fire for Middle East, Turkey & Africa.

Stopping in Kuwait after visiting Oman and Dubai, the roadshow will next head to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE this year.

Honeywell will also meet end users, consultants, partners and distributors across the region and demonstrate its capabilities for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB), enterprise and industrial infrastructure environments.

Honeywell technology is currently in use across a number of landmarks and high-profile projects in the Middle East, including at high-end hotels, iconic commercial buildings, major airports, universities, stadiums, and shopping malls.-TradeArabia News Service
