MANAMA, March 5, 2018

Work on the upgradation of seven sewage stations located in Hamad Town, Muharraq and Abu Saibaa areas of Bahrain, is going as per schedule, said the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning in a statement.

The scope of work includes revamping of all the seven sewage stations and renewal of the electrical and mechanical tools and equipment there. Of this, nearly 55 per cent of the work has already been completed, it stated.

The BD2.2-million ($5.8 million) project highlights the ministry’s approach to increase the capacity of sewerage networks, reduce defects, maintain sewage stations, prolong their life span and ensure sustainability, remarked Nazha Abu Hindi, the sanitary engineering planning and projects director at the ministry.

The stations will also be supplied with new pumps, internal pipelines, valves, electrical control panels, control systems, sensors and other related civil works, she added.-TradeArabia News Service
