Al Shirawi begins fit-out work at Silicon Park

DUBAI, March 26, 2018

UAE-based Al Shirawi Interiors, a premier specialist in interior fit-out, partitioning, suspended ceilings and carpentry works, said it has started the fit-out work at Silicon Park, tagged as the first smart city project in Dubai, UAE.

The scope of fit-out work includes the project’s business centre, serviced apartments, hotel, fitness centre and public spaces in over 19 buildings spread across its office, residential and boutique building clusters, said the company in a satement.

Al Shirawi Interiors said it is gearing up for handover in Q4 2018, after signing the contract in November 2017.

The 150,000-sq-m mixed-use development of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) was master-planned and architecturally designed by Design & Architecture Bureau in line with the Dubai Government's strategic direction on smart cities, said the statement.

It complies with the UAE’s green building regulations as well as international LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards, it added.

CEO Navin Valrani said: "DSO has been at the forefront of innovation with its technologically-advanced and integrated ecosystem. Silicon Park is another visionary project by the entity and is poised to be the new gem amongst Dubai’s thriving business-centric communities. We are delighted to be a part of this project."

The construction work on Silicon Park is scheduled for completion in Q1 2019. When fully operational, it is expected to feature smart solutions from charging-docks for smart devices on the street to smart pop-up furniture and digital play tables, as well as optimally-designed bus shelters, piazzas shading, and electric vehicles charging stations.

Ani Chacko, the general manager, Al Shirawi Interiors, said: "The project’s strict focus on energy and sustainability presented us with an exciting challenge. Our experienced project management team has been integral in ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards."

"We are positive that with our skilled workforce and quality finishes, we will complete the fit-out work to the set expectations," he added.

Al Shirawi Interiors has worked alongside DAR on several other projects, including Knowledge Village, Burj Dubai Business Park, 152 villas in Jumeirah and a school in Arabian Ranches.  The fit-out specialist is presently also working on another high-profile project, Cityland Mall, located adjacent to Global Village.-TradeArabia News Service
