Bahrain set to distribute 5,000 housing units

MANAMA, October 30, 2018

Bahrain will distribute 5,000 additional housing units before the end of this year, Housing Minister Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamer said, adding that the ministry will announce the timetable within the next few days, according to a media report.

The move comes upon the directives of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, reported Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The minister said during the recent Government Forum 2018 session that the orders to distribute residential units translate the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to provide housing services that meet the needs of citizens all over the Kingdom’s governorates.

Al Hamer pointed out that this is the sixth order to distribute housing units issued by HRH the Crown Prince over the last two years. The previous orders resulted in the distribution of 20,000 residential units. The latest order will result in the distribution of 5,000 new homes towards the end of the Government Action Plan (GAP2014-2018) during which 25,000 housing units were distributed.
