GE holds specialised workshops in ME varsities

General Electric Company (GE), has unveiled a series of educational workshops for university students in the Middle East region.

The workshops are focused on strengthening the skills of students, sharing GE’s extensive knowledge base with them, and engaging the local student community for potential careers within the company.

GE has organised specialised workshops at the American University of Beirut, American University of Sharjah and the University of Bahrain.

The topics covered at the workshops are varied and include operational aspects of GE as well as self-development programmes for the students including resume writing, interview skills and job search.

“Youth comprises the most significant demography of the region, according to recent regional governmental estimates, with 200 million youngsters below the age of 25 years in the Middle East alone. Training and nurturing them for promising careers that match their skills is an imperative,” stated Nabil Habayeb, GE’s president and CEO for the Mena region.

Further strengthening its outreach to the student community, GE was an active participant at Careers UAE  in Dubai,  Najah career fair in Abu Dhabi , as well as the career fair held at the American University of Cairo, Egypt.

GE also offers leadership programs such a Financial Management Program, Operational Management Leadership Program, Corporate Audit Staff, Commercial Leadership Program, Field Engineering Program and Experienced Commercial Leadership Program.

Majority of the candidates were hired from the American University of Beirut, King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, American University of Cairo, American University of Sharjah, American University of Cairo, Carnegie Mellon University and University of Bahrain.-TradeArabia News Service
