BITS Pilani Dubai achieves high placements in core engineering fields

DUBAI, 19 days ago

BITS Pilani Dubai Campus (BPDC) has witnessed a notable increase in campus placements for students specialising in core engineering fields such as chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering.

This rise reflects broader global trends signalling a renewed demand for core engineering roles, underscoring the UAE's emphasis on industrial expansion and economic diversification, the institution said.

Recent analyses from the World Economic Forum and Deloitte forecast a sustained rise in engineering positions, particularly in chemical and civil engineering, driven by global imperatives like sustainable development and infrastructure modernisation. BPDC's achievement in student placements reflects this international outlook, it said.

Over the past two years, BPDC has achieved a job placement rate exceeding 90% for graduates in chemical and civil engineering. This achievement can be attributed to several factors including BPDC’s partnerships with industry leaders, practical skills gained through internships and its Industry Readiness Program. Career fairs and placement drives are also held, which are essential for seamless integration into the workforce for students, a statement said.

While the demand for IT and Computer Science professionals remains robust, the increase in placements for traditional engineering graduates underscores the UAE's balanced growth strategy. This approach leverages both technological advancements and traditional industrial strengths, it said.

"At BPDC, we are proud to see our engineering graduates thriving in the job market. Our commitment to providing industry-relevant education and robust career support has paid off, as evidenced by our high placement rates," said Professor Srinivasan Madapusi, Director of BITS Pilani Dubai Campus.

"Seeing the global resurgence in core engineering jobs mirrored at BPDC reaffirms our efforts in preparing students for the evolving job market. Our strategic initiatives and strong industry ties have been crucial in achieving this success," added Abdul Razzak, Manager of Career Services at BPDC. – TradeArabia News Service
