Abu Dhabi, September 28, 2010

An event focused on the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases in the region will be held in Abu Dhabi next month.

The inaugural edition of the Arabian Public Health Forum, being organized by Meed, will be held on October 11 and 12 at the Crowne Plaza hotel Abu Dhabi.

Green Crescent Insurance Company, a leading health insurance provider, alongside global biopharmaceutical company Astrazeneca and their Safe @ Heart initiative (supported by Emirates Cardiac Association) are Platinum sponsors of the event.
It is also supported by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Abu Dhabi Health services (SEHA) and Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC).

Dr Mahmoud Fikree, chief executive officer of health policy, Ministry of Health UAE, and other senior health officials from the region will provide a strategic overview of the current extent of treatment for chronic diseases at the forum.

The event also aims to throw light on the innovative initiatives being implemented by a diverse range of stakeholders.

Edmund O’Sullivan, chairman, Meed Events, said: “The Arabian Public Health Forum 2010 aims to gather all stakeholders, especially those engaged in tackling the challenges in treating chronic diseases. We believe the event will successfully emphasise the need for everyone in the community to contribute towards social health requirements. In addition, businesses in the healthcare sector may also look forward to potential opportunities in this area.” – TradeArabia News Service
