Abu Dhabi set for endocrinology summit

The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist (AACE) Gulf Chapter is set to host the second clinical congress and also its annual meeting on Diabetes and Endocrinology in Abu Dhabi this year.

To be held from October 23 to 25 at the Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, the congress will feature over 20 international speakers who will disuss diabetes and endocrine topics, including guidelines for treatment.

Diabetes is highly prioritized on the national health agenda due to the high prevalence in the UAE. It is therefore of foremost importance that a congress like this supports and educates healthcare professionals to deliver the most optimal treatment and care within diabetes, said the organisers.

“It is of almost importance in UAE and in the Gulf region that professional medical conferences of a very high caliber like this are encouraged to ensure that healthcare professionals receive and get updated on the latest health discoveries and approved practice guidelines” remarked Dr Aly Khalil, the president of the Gulf Chapter of AACE.

"The latest developments within research, clinical practices and health care technology have changed the quality of care for people with diabetes and other endocrine diseases significantly. We want to make sure that healthcare professionals are aware of these advances and are providing the highest quality of care," he added.

The congress and Gulf Chapter annual meeting will feature more than 50 sessions on diabetes and endocrinology, which is expected to attract participation of over a thousand healthcare professionals from around the Gulf and Mena region.-TradeArabia News Service
