Rail Agency trains UAE students

Dubai, July 29, 2007

The UAE’s Rail Agency of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently trained four students from the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) as a part of the student work placement programme.

The students will be graduating in a couple of months in the field of Mechatronics, which comprises Mechanical and Electronic Engineering.

The four-week training programme included projects based on automated fare collection system, telecommunication, rolling stock manufacturing process, train control and monitoring system, investigation of railway accidents, etc.

"The students were enthusiastic about their involvement in this strategic project. As part of the RTA policies, we are proud to encourage and help young and talented UAE nationals to work with us and gather work experience as they progress. This not only allows them to explore their skills, but also gives them room for grooming and growth,” said director of construction department at the Rail Agency Adnan Al Hammadi.
