ETA Star to take over $80m Bahrain plant

Manama, September 24, 2007

ETA Star Group will soon take over the $80 million Bahrain Ferro Alloys (BAFA) in Hidd, which was built by another group but never commissioned.

It will also launch an aluminium recycling plant at a cost of $12 million, said Star Group metal division director R S M Abulhasan.

"Our procurement centres in Saudi Arabia will send aluminium scraps to the plant in Bahrain, which will produce ingots for export to India and China."

The group will also commission its cement plant (Star Cement) by the end of the year.

Abulhasan, who is also Star Cement chief executive, made the announcement during a visit by Indian Ambassador Balkrishna Shetty to ETA Star Cement's plant and labour accommodation in Hidd.

During the visit the firm received high praise for enhancing its employees' morale by providing good salaries and accommodation. - TradeArabia News Service
