EBS production capacity to rise

Dubai , November 22, 2007

Emirates Building Systems (EBS), a subsidiary of Dubai Investments Industries, has said it expects to achieve a production capacity of over 75,000 metric tonnes annually after its factory expansion.

Meanwhile, the company is gearing up for participation in the Big 5 show, the largest annual meeting place for the Middle East construction and contracting industry, that will be held from November 25 to 29, 2007, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. At the event, EBS will showcase its portfolio of high-profile projects to maximise awareness and target potential clients attending the show.

Samir Akra, general manager, EBS, said: “The Big 5 show, being one of the most eagerly-awaited events in the regional construction industry, serves as the perfect platform for us to showcase our capabilities in manufacturing high quality products that have been used in some of the most prestigious buildings in the UAE and the region. We will look to leverage the reach and popularity of the event to target new clients from across the Middle East.”

Emirates Building Systems – which has been involved in major projects such as the Muscat City Centre, Dubai Investments office blocks, The Tower on Sheikh Zayed road, Kuwait Trade Centre and several industrial structures - are specialised manufacturers and suppliers of pre-engineered and Structural steel buildings for institutional, commercial and industrial sectors. The ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company also offers complete project engineering services as per contractual specifications.

“With the completion of our factory expansion, which coincides with our 10th anniversary we are certain to increase our production capacity by around 25,000 metric tonnes, thereby efficiently meeting the increased demand for our products,” said Akra.

EBS has recently been awarded a major contract for the structural steel work of a 26-floor office tower in Business Bay, and the company is confident of finalising similar deals during the Big 5 show.

The Big 5 is the most comprehensive event of the year for contractors, suppliers, architects, engineers and buyers throughout the GCC countries. Over 41,000 key buyers and decision-makers from the public and private sectors attended the 2006 event.-TradeArabia News Service
