Egypt's El Sewedy Cables posted a 26 per cent decline in net profit for the first quarter of 2009 to EGP192 million ($34 million), the firm said today (May 28).

Sewedy, the largest Arab cable maker by market value, also posted a decline in total revenues to EGP2.415 billion.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation dipped 21 per cent to EGP286 million. – Reuters
