Top boat builders for first Saudi show

Dubai, August 17, 2009

Some of the biggest names in the world of superyachts, leisure boats and marine equipment will be presenting the latest models and products at the inaugural Saudi International Boat Show (SIBS).

SIBS will be held from October 14 to 17 at Al Furusya Marina and Yacht Club, which is managed by Al Ahlam Marine Tourism Group, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

In addition to showing top-of-the-line yachts and boats, the event will feature the latest equipment and diving gear. Other attractions include the Saudi Boating Conference, the first ever dedicated diving village showcasing live diving lessons and seminars, as well as fishing and jet-ski competitions, and a weekend of festivities.

The show is organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) with the endorsement of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities.

“Never before have so many of the latest yachts and marine products been presented at a single event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO of DWTC.

“The commitment from global leaders in the marine industry to the Saudi International Boat Show highlights the growth of the kingdom’s consumer market.”

Among the largest exhibitors will be ART Marine showcasing some of the most luxurious yachts from its portfolio of top class brands, including Atlantis, Azimut and Benetti superyachts that are seen in many of the world’s most prestigious ports-of-call.

“Our participation in the SIBS is a strategic marketing decision made in view of the growing interest among Saudis who want to enjoy a marine leisure lifestyle,” Wael Bittar, regional marketing director, Art Marine.

“Potential buyers will have the opportunity to experience the luxury of life aboard a great superyacht without having to travel outside the region, and to get all the technical information they require from our experts on the spot.”

Also exhibiting is Sunseeker Middle East; another world class brand leader that is a well established favourite among boat owners in the region.

“Sunseeker Middle East has many loyal customers in Saudi Arabia and we are very pleased to have this opportunity to bring our latest range to them for the first time,” said Ali Al Jafla, Managing Director, Sunseeker Middle East.

“There is huge market in the Kingdom for superyachts and we are delighted that we will be able to meet with our customers in Jeddah.”

Another exhibitor that is renowned in boating community, Alkhorayef Group will be showing the Yamama motor 350 hp four stroke engine, the Yamama Wave Runner model FZR 2009, the Volvo Penta 300 hp engine, along with engine accessories and marine electronics.

Alghanim Marine will preview the entire 2009 Cigarette line-up including two outstanding boats that highlight high performance, luxury and quality. The 39’ Top Gun Unlimited excels in its class, performing with eye-opening speed, while the 39’ Top Fish is an extremely versatile centre console fish boat that still has the sleek Cigarette look and performance.

“The Cigarette Racing Team is dedicated to continuing to build the legend and at the Saudi International Boat Show you will see the legend come to life with all the latest models there for real,” said Peter Hanna, marketing manager at Alghanim Marine.

“Once you’ve experienced the smooth ride of the 39’ Top Gun Unlimited you really know what speed is all about and once aboard the 39’ Top Fish you know that you really have ‘Gone Fishing.’”

Other leading exhibitors include Al Ahlam Marine, Blue Limits, Dream Divers, Dubai Marine Boats, Emirates Boats, Icon Yachts, IMG Boats and Saudi Yachts. – TradeArabia News Service
