Tamkeen to back SMEs at Bahrain industry fair

Manama, August 24, 2009

Tamkeen, Bahrain’s Labour Fund, will support 20 entrepreneur-applicants for participation in an upcoming regional industrial exhibition in Bahrain.

The Gulf International Industrial Fair 2010 (GIIF) will be held from January 12 to 14, 2010 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

The  move is part of Tamkeen’s innovative growth assistance programme (GAP) initiative to assist Bahraini enterprises to participate in important international exhibitions which will give them an opportunity to showcase their capabilities and network with peers.

Under the initiative, the participating companies will be co-financed by Tamkeen at the exhibition under the Tamkeen pavilion.

Tamkeen in cooperation with the Bahrain Young Entrepreneurs Society will organize participation and raise awareness for the upcoming exhibition.

“With Bahrain’s industrial base growing, we want entrepreneurs to get maximum exposure and connect with the larger industrial world,” said Mohammed Bucheery, senior manager, private sector support, Tamkeen.

“Such participation opens new avenues of growth in terms of networking and business opportunities which is what our GAP programme is all about.”

“The participation will bring new business to Bahrain’s entrepreneurs”, he added.

Entrepreneurs wishing to take advantage of the offer need to be Bahrain-based and must meet LMRA's (Labour Market Regulatory Authority) Bahrainisation quota. The participants will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis. – TradeArabia News Service
