GAC opens new office at Kuwait airport

Kuwait, May 10, 2010

Leading shipping and logistics service provider GAC Kuwait has announced the opening of a new branch at the cargo terminal of the Kuwait International Airport.

The expansion is in line with GAC Kuwait’s plans to boost its profile as a major airfreight forwarder in the country, said a senior official.

“Being strategically located at the airport brings GAC closer to where the actual freight arrives. Clients benefit from significant time savings as the entire process from notification to clients, issuance of delivery orders to customs clearance are all expedited,” explained Ronald Lichtenecker, managing director of GAC Kuwait.

“As an IATA Agent (International Air Transport Association), having a physical presence at the airport is an important and logical step. This brings GAC closer to the airlines, ground handling agents, airport authorities and the customs. We expect even better coordination with our overseas agents and partners," he added.

One of the pioneers in the freight industry in Kuwait and in the region, GAC is a full fledged logistics service provider specialising in supply chain and logistics solutions.

The GAC services include air and sea freight, warehousing and distribution, road transport, project logistics, international moving and courier services. The company is also the authorised service provider for integrator UPS in the country.-TradeArabia News Service
