Equate backs health summit

Kuwait, May 10, 2011

Equate Petrochemical Company, a leading manufacturer of petrochemical products, sponsored the fourth Gulf Occupational Health & Safety Conference recently held in Kuwait.

Attended by Ministry of Health Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr Yousef Al-Nesf and the executive director of GCC Health Ministers' Council Dr Tawfik Khoja, Equate’s participation in the event is part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at sustainability, a statement said.

Equate’s CSR efforts have included launching a number of health awareness campaigns that addressed a number of issues, such as breast cancer, obesity and hypertension, as well as supporting medical institutions through various means.

Established in 1995, Equate is an international joint venture between Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), the Dow Chemical Company (Dow), Boubyan Petrochemical Company (BPC) and Qurain Petrochemical Industries Company (QPIC). – TradeArabia News Service
