Oman Air launches Pan-European trucking service

Oman Air has signed a partnership deal with Dutch-based Jan de Rijk Logistics to expand its cargo trucking services across Europe.

The Pan-European Trucking deal will starting from this month provide road feeder services covering Oman Air’s major European gateways of London Heathrow, Paris Charles De Gaulle, Milan Malpensa, Munich and Frankfurt, with Zurich following later in the year, the airline said in a statement.

Jan de Rijk Logistics will also provide offline handling services across Europe for Oman Air, said Oman Air’s chief commercial officer, Abdulrazaq Al Raisi.

On the new service, Al Raisi said, 'Pan-European Trucking will complement our recently launched Pan-GCC trucking services and we are confident that it will prove to be a vital element in the expansion of the Oman Air Group.'

'We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership with Jan de Rijk Logistics, the establishment of which is the latest step in a fundamental transformation of Oman Air,'  he remarked.

“Over the last two years, we have introduced new aircraft to our fleet, unveiled new on-board products and services and created superb new lounges at Muscat International Airport.'

The carrier, said Al Raisi, has also expanded its route network, boosted its hotels and catering operation besides the engineering, maintenance and ground handling services.'

'The results have been remarkable. In addition to very positive customer feedback, we have won a range of awards and our recently-published annual report detailed a 40 per cent increase in overall revenues, including a 238 per cent increase in cargo revenues, with a total of 28,600 T being carried,' Al Raisi added.

The launch of Pan-European Trucking comes just one month after Oman Air’s Pan-GCC Custom-Bonded trucking service was unveiled, the Oman Air said in a statement.

The Pan-GCC service is operated in partnership with Able Logistics Group (Oman) and links Muscat and Salalah in Oman with other Gulf countries.

General Manger – Cargo Oman Air, Sherief Padiyath said these developments are part of its continued effort to upgrade service levels and options to customer to do business with Oman Air.
